The novel talks about Patroclus' relationship with Achilles, from their initial meeting to their exploits during the Trojan War, with particular focus on their romantic relationship.
The Song of Achilles is the first novel written by the American writer Madeline Miller.
This plot is set during the Greek Heroic Age .
The Greek Heroic Age, in mythology, is the period between the coming of the Greeks to Thessaly and the Greek return from Troy.
It was demarcated as one of the five Ages of Man by Hesiod.
The period spans roughly six generations; the heroes denoted by the term are superhuman, though not divine, and are celebrated in the literature of Homer.
This is a tale of kindness, innocence and love. The scenes are defined with great skills of the writer . A profound sense of melancholy heartache and sorrow is overwhelming, a rare and remarkable mix of feelings.
Miller covers everything you need to know in order to understand the lives of each individual character.
